I’ve had my phone for nearly two months now. It’s a Bold 9700 and I haven’t dropped it once or caused any damage to it at all. It’s in great condition. Today I woke up and called a friend. I couldn’t hear him but he could hear me. I’ve tried this with several other phones and it remained the same. I can’t phone T-mobile because today is a bank holiday in the UK so I’m pretty much stuck.

Things I’ve tried to fix it:
Hard reset
Normal reset
Reboot
Voice Dialing
Muting and unmuting
Oscillating the volume with the volume keys
Phoning landlines
Turning off call enhance audio
Begging and pleading the phone to work

Needless to say, that didn’t fix it. The only way I can hear people over the phone is through speakerphone and I assumed headset works too but I can’t find it at the moment.

Media works fine and everything else works fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I’m insured and the warranty is still in place so I can get it fixed. However, I am wary that I will lose all my applications I bought. Is there a way to back up my apps so I can install it again when I get it returned?

You shouldn’t loose your applications, as you would have had to purchase them from somewhere in order to get them, thus there’s a record of the purchase, and you should just be able to re-download. The Crackberry app store has this, I’ve switched devices and loaded the same apps on my new device, works like a charm.

If calling T-Mo doesn’t get you some sort of solution, make a warranty claim. Warranty claims won’t cost you a deductable on your insurance plan you have, so it’ll save you some money.
Could just be a hardware issue, speaker might have just died out…

To get the unlock code, call T-Mobile and tell them you will be travelling overseas and you need to unlock the SIM.

What’s the purpose of having it whenever I try to use it says no upgrades available. But I see threads on here bout a new Os. Sorry still new to all this.

There has not been an official upgrade in a while. What you are seeing is leaked versions of a new os. Before you attempt to do this (if you decide) please read the “how to” threads to help. And always back-up before you do anything.

I have a blackberry storm I use and also have an IPhone currently not in use. Can an Iphone be unlocked to work with verizon wireless? I want to use both.

Yes you can. It will require some computer savy to make it happen and you will need to jailbreak your iPhone to do it. There are a number of videos on YouTube which will provide the walkthroughs on how to acheive it. Long story short; after the programming you will have “tricked” your iPhone into thinking it is working on a GSM network when in fact it is working on Verizon’s CDMA network. Cheers and good luck.

What is the best program that will keep sounding a ton like ever 1-2 min for a missed call/text i see a few some have VARY bad reviews some have ok some any one use any?

the regular front LED will flash red when theres a missed call or message for 15 mins before returning back to a normal green status light. unless u want to get the other apps.

my blackberry 9530 was stolen. I did get it back however and it had been unlocked to work on tmobile. can I set it back to work on my verizon acct again? The tech at verizon store said if he tried to download verizon software it may ruin the phone. other people told me it can be done. if so, who knows how to help me?

As long as everything is still clear on the phone, ESN etc. It should still be able to work on your account. The only thing that has been changed is that it’s not locked to Verizon anymore.

I have some apps on my blackberry that I want to keep.

If I restore my BB to factory defaults, do I lose all the apps that I have downloaded?

I also have my work schedule for the rest of 2009 in there as well that I don’t want to have to put back in.

How can I protect these and restore the factory settings?

Make sure you use your blackberry desktop manager and do a back up. This will save your data to your desktop.

was the best thing I have ever done. I am frequently having to scroll down to lock my phone but I just thought of using the Soft key because I never use push to talk.

i seen a commercial from sprint last night that said the all new 4g network any comments on this and how far along are any of the other carriers with this new network. and why would they come out with 4g when they dont even have 3g everywhere yet?????
